This Orange Tofu is one of the best things ever to happen to tofu! Ditch Panda Express and make your own healthy plant based version of this tasty dish!! Tofu is air fried to perfection and tossed with a sweet, tangy orange sauce that has a slight kick from red chili flakes. Served fresh over a bed of fluffy rice and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions for an extra crunch and pop of flavor. The best part? It takes less than 15 minutes to make!

Orange Tofu

  • 2 (18 oz) packages of extra firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup cassava flour
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Orange Sauce

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, for garnish

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, tear the tofu into chunks. In a large bowl, toss the chunks of tofu, oil, coconut aminos, pepper, and cassava flour to coat. Place into the air fryer and fry for 10 minutes until golden brown, shaking the basket after 5 minutes, then continuing to cook for the remaining 5. Remove the tofu after it is cooked and set aside. Meanwhile, set a wok over medium heat and add in 1/4 cup green onions. Cook until fragrant. In a measuring cup, mix together the juice, aminos, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes until well combined. Pour into the pan with the green onions and bring to a boil, boiling for about 3-4 minutes. Then toss in the tofu and cook until the sauce has reduced, about 3 minutes. Top with extra green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds and serve with fluffy white rice. Enjoy!!
