Hot summer days call for this Agua de Jamaica! Mexicans love their iced tea just as much as Americans do 😉 Infused with dried hibiscus petals, this drink offers the best of both worlds, with both a tart refreshing flavor and a gorgeous color! Lightly sweetened with maple, this drink is free from refined sugars and doesn't leave you with crazy sugar spikes. It's sweet, tart, and delicious, yet us chock full of health benefits.
Agua De Jamaica
- 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 6 cups of water
- Maple syrup
Rinse the flowers and then add to a medium sauce pan. Add the water and bring to a boil. Once it boils, remove from the heat and cover the pan with the lid. Allow to steep for 20 minutes before sweetening to your liking. Strain to remove the flowers and add to a pitcher. Pour over ice and enjoy!
